Heart Healthy Avocado Mousse Recipe

Kudo Master Leanne Chan created a meal plan loaded with great healthy foods straight from the heart. Leanne’s husband was diagnosed with cancer and it caused him to drastically change up the things he was eating, to make it easier for her husband she began to research different foods that her husband could eat and that not only would be good for him but taste good too.

Due to the kind of cancer her husband had it made it very difficult for him to digest different nutrients such as fiber, and because fiber is a very important and is an essential nutrient for our bodies and her husband needed a way to digest it. After doing some research Leanne found new ways that would make it easy for his body to obtain fiber.  Leanne found that if you cook, blend, or mix fiber in different ways then people who are diagnosed with conditions that make it hard to digest certain nutrients are still able to consume it. After doing the research and finding this very important fact she came up with one of our new favorites Chocolate Avocado Mouse.

The Avocado is an amazing little fruit; it has so many great health benefits and surprising avocados are very easy to incorporate in almost any meal. Avocados are extremely nutritious and contain a wide variety of nutrients, including 20 different vitamins and minerals such as: Vitamin K, Folate, Vitamin C, Potassium, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Vitamin E, and Then it contains small amounts of Magnesium, Manganese, Copper, Iron, Zinc, Phosphorous, Vitamin A, B1 (Thiamine), B2 (Riboflavin) and B3 (Niacin). Avocados also do not contain any cholesterol or sodium, and are low in saturated fat. Heart disease is the most common cause of death in the world and by eating avocados or foods high in heart healthy fats such as oleic acid you can drastically decrease your chance of getting heart disease.

This recipe also contains cashews they are packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. These include vitamins E, K, and B6, along with minerals like copper, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, iron, and selenium, all of which are important for maintaining good bodily function.

Another main ingredient in this mousse and the ingredient that gives this recipe the flavor is raw cacao. Raw cacao contains magnesium, and other essential minerals including calcium, sulfur, zinc, iron, copper, potassium, and manganese. Raw cacao has many antioxidants and also has essential heart-healthy fat called oleic acid which is a monounsaturated fat. Raw cacao also contains Protein and Fiber.

Chocolate Avocado Mousse- by Kudo Master Leanne Chan

Ingredients

  • 2 avocados
  • 2/3 cup cashews (soaked for 4 hours)
  • ¼ cup date paste or maple syrup
  • ½ sea salt
  • ¼ vanilla
  • ½ cup raw cacao

Directions

  1. Place all ingredients in blender and puree.
  2. After blending mixture if it is too thick, add small amounts of almond milk until you reach the desired consistency.
  3. Place the mouse into ramekins or a large bowl. Refrigerate for 1 hour. The Mouse will keep for 4 days.
  4. Serve with strawberries/raspberries or any of your favorite fruits.

The Avocado is one of the healthiest fruits that you can eat providing so many essential nutrients for the body and It is also know to help target unwanted belly fat ,as well as help with weight loss, and most importantly help your body maintain a healthy heart. There are so many easy ways you can add avocados into any meal and with this recipe you’ll never want regular sugar loaded chocolate pudding again.
